Autism parenting wasn’t the path I expected, but it became the story that changed my life — and inspired the books and resources I create today.
Born and raised in West Texas, I graduated at the top of my high school class before earning a Bachelor of Science in Teaching from Angelo State University. After marrying my college sweetheart, I began teaching while starting a family of my own.
Within a few years, my husband and I welcomed three beautiful boys. I later stepped away from teaching to stay home with them full-time. During those early years of motherhood, I began noticing developmental delays in one of my children and started searching for answers.
That search led to countless doctor visits, therapy appointments, and testing — but very few clear answers.
It wasn’t until our family moved across the country to Georgia that everything finally began to make sense. At the Marcus Autism Center, my son was diagnosed with autism.
From that moment on, I immersed myself in learning everything I could to understand and support my child. Without family nearby, I leaned heavily on my faith, my church community, and the strength of my growing family. It was only through the power of the Holy Spirit that I was able to help my son become more emotionally regulated and make significant progress in many areas of development.
A few years later, my husband and I welcomed two more boys into our family, and another son was eventually diagnosed with autism. Eight years later, God blessed us with the opportunity to adopt three beautiful little girls through the foster care system, two of whom also show many signs of being on the autism spectrum.
Today, as parents of four autistic children, the impact of autism is part of our everyday life. Through years of experience, research, therapy, trial-and-error, and plenty of hard-earned lessons, I’ve discovered practical ways to make life feel a little less overwhelming for both my children and myself.
I’m passionate about encouraging other parents who may feel lost, exhausted, or uncertain after an autism diagnosis. I understand firsthand how isolating the journey can feel — especially in the beginning.
Through my children’s books, resources, and online community, I hope to help families better understand autism while reminding autistic children that they are wonderfully made, deeply loved, and capable of accomplishing amazing things.
Above all, I want every family who visits this site to leave with hope—hope that God sees them, loves their child, and will faithfully equip them for the journey ahead.
Whether you’re looking for encouragement, children’s books, or practical autism resources,
I’m so glad you’re here.
