Autism parenting wasn’t the path I expected, but it became the story that changed my life — and inspired the books and resources I create today.
Born and raised in West Texas, I graduated at the top of my high school class before earning a Bachelor of Science in Teaching from Angelo State University. After marrying my college sweetheart, I began teaching while starting a family of my own.
Within a few years, my husband and I welcomed three beautiful boys. I later stepped away from teaching to stay home with them full-time. During those early years of motherhood, I began noticing developmental delays in one of my children and started searching for answers.
That search led to countless doctor visits, therapy appointments, and testing — but very few clear answers.
It wasn’t until our family moved across the country to Georgia that everything finally began to make sense. At the Marcus Autism Center, my son was diagnosed with autism.
From that moment on, I immersed myself in learning everything I could to understand and support my child. Without family nearby, I leaned heavily on my faith, my church community, and the strength of my growing family.
A few years later, my husband and I welcomed two more boys into our family — another of whom was also diagnosed with autism.
Today, autism impacts our family every single day. Through years of experience, research, therapy, trial-and-error, and plenty of hard-earned lessons, I’ve discovered practical ways to make life feel a little less overwhelming for both my children and myself.
I’m passionate about encouraging other parents who may feel lost, exhausted, or uncertain after an autism diagnosis. I understand firsthand how isolating the journey can feel — especially in the beginning.
Through my children’s books, resources, and online community, I hope to help families better understand autism while also helping autistic children see just how wonderful, capable, and deeply loved they truly are.
Whether you’re looking for encouragement, children’s books, or practical autism resources,
I’m so glad you’re here.
